Additional time is required to complete the procurement process for the new contract. It is anticipated that the new contract will be in place by the end of the year (2021). Negotiation and approval of the non-standard terms and conditions and the cooperative agreement requires additional time to process.

Justification for Extension:
|
This equipment maintenance program contract provides maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance services for vital equipment used by Commonwealth agencies, including multiple state-owned and operated labs. Virtually all agencies have equipment which is needed for effective government operations, these operations
would be diminished without properly maintained and functioning equipment.

Vital agency equipment could become inoperable, not allowing agencies to provide
the services they perform, many of which include criminal investigations, health lab
testing, horse/harness racing compliance testing, and many other vital Commonwealth operations.
